Frances Wiseman

Chair of the Preclinical Committee

Dr. Wiseman holds a BA from the University of Oxford, and a MRes and PhD from the University of Edinburgh, and in 2018 she was awarded an Alzheimer’s Research UK Senior Fellowship. She has particular expertise in the use of genetically altered animal models for the study of neurological disease. Reflecting this she sits on the executive board of the Medical Research Council National Mouse Genetics Network. Dr. Wiseman’s research focus is the early-onset of Alzheimer’s disease in people who have Down syndrome, using a range of research approaches. Dr. Wiseman has a particular interest in understanding how genes on chromosome 21, other than APP, modify Alzheimer’s disease-relevant phenotypes using preclinical approaches.
